Quick start.
The support answer is often hiding in the step that failed.
Add footage
Drag in individual clips or use Browse Files. Reel Wrangler accepts .mov, .mp4, and .m4v.
Review timing
Check the inferred order, gaps, and confidence notes before export. Use manual order when the timeline needs your judgment.
Export
Choose timestamp burn-in, gap handling, quality, and optional report settings, then export the review file.
First checks.
These cover the issues most likely to stop import, timeline review, or export.
A clip will not import
Confirm the file is .mov, .mp4, or
.m4v. If it is, try opening it in QuickTime Player to
check whether macOS can read the file.
The order looks wrong
Camera filenames and copied files can carry misleading dates. Use manual ordering when the visible sequence or your records are clearer than the metadata.
Export fails
Try a smaller batch, choose a different output folder, and check that the destination is writable. Include the exact message when contacting support.
You need a record
Enable the sidecar report before export. It records useful details about the reconstruction choices without sending anything off your Mac.
